Application Aims: Exercise. Record. Chart. Done.
Reviewer’s Comments
If you’re interested in a program that will allow you to record your exercise activity and calorie expenditure and not much else, Exercise Tracker could be the answer. It’s extremely simple to use. Just choose your activity from an extensive list, enter the amount of time spent on the activity and your weight, and the application calculates the calories burned. As long as you then save that information, it can be displayed in four possible formats: weekly or monthly chart or weekly or monthly list.
As basic as the program is, the information that it provides can be very valuable and its simplicity ensures that using it isn’t complicated with a bunch of other features that make it too complicated to use routinely. In order for the program to accurately track your exercise data, you must make the entry when the activity is performed because the application automatically enters the date and time. It would be a great improvement to give users the opportunity to manually enter date and time information because it’s not at all uncommon to neglect to enter information as soon as it’s available. Nonetheless, if entries are made in a timely manner, the output lists and graphs do provide a good snapshot of your exercise history.
Exercise Tracker is only a good option if you want just a very basic application for recording exercise activity and nothing else. It’s moderately priced at $9.99 but better values are available. You might consider the Gym Technik web based application which has notably more features and is free.
